Andrew has welcomed the announcement of a competition worth £150m for firms with innovative ideas and projects.
Projects that will improve and futureproof aerospace technologies, develop more efficient systems and help secure the UK’s leadership in the sector will be strong contenders for the prize.
The investment is part of the £3.9 billion UK Aerospace Research and Technology (UKART) programme between government and industry.
Andrew, who used to be Vice Chair of the All Party Aerospace Group said: “Pendle is host to a range of innovative aerospace companies big and small. I invite all firms in this sector, no matter what size, to consider applying. There is a great deal of skill and expertise in Pendle’s aerospace businesses and I hope some are successful in accessing this additional government support.”
The deadline for expressions of interest in the competition is 12pm on 11 February 2019.
