The MP for Pendle, Andrew Stephenson has welcomed support for schools across Pendle needing to improve the condition of their buildings.
Four Pendle schools were successful in the most recent round of bids to the Government’s Condition Improvement Fund, which provides funding to schools facing significant problems keeping their buildings safe and in good working order.
Colne Primet Academy, Castercliff Primary School, Newchurch-in-Pendle St Mary’s Primary School and West Craven High School were all awarded funding for works including roof repairs and replacing a fire alarm system
A total of £514 million has been awarded to 1,300 schools.
Andrew Stephenson MP said, “I am delighted Pendle schools are once more amongst those benefitting from this Government’s support. These funding awards are a welcome boost to schools needing repairs.
“Pupils need high-standard, safe school buildings, as do the hard-working teachers and school staff delivering the best possible education to the next generation.”
