Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson has called on Pendle residents to help him nominate an individual or organisation that has inspired young people for the community of the Kids Count Inspiration Awards.
Kids Count is a grass-roots organisation aiming to find practical solutions to the broad spectrum of issues that affect children and young people in urban and rural communities.
Since 2007 the Kids Count Inspiration Awards have been hosted in the House of Commons. This year the awards will take place on Tuesday 11th December 2018 and Kids Count are inviting MPs to take part by nominating candidates for the "Inspire the House" award.
The award give MPs the opportunity to highlight outstanding work in their constituency and to show support for the charitable third sector, whose outstanding achievements sometimes go unnoticed.
Andrew Stephenson MP said, “I have been invited to nominate an inspirational young person or community group from Pendle that has really made a difference to the lives of people in their community. I would like to hear from anyone who thinks someone they know deserves to be nominated.
“Nominations close on Monday 5th November so I would encourage people to get in touch with me soon to let me know who they want to recommend.”
Last year’s Inspiration Awards were a great success and saw the recognition of the achievements of a number of young people. Previous winners have been nominated by MPs including Prime Minister David Cameron.
Andrew Stephenson MP said, “It would be great to recognise one of the many exceptional people or organisations that inspire young people here in Pendle.”
