Pendle MP, Rt Hon Andrew Stephenson and Councillor Mike Goulthorp have welcomed the news that the Earby Flood Alleviation Scheme Phase 3, Earby Beck, has been allocated £200,000 from the Frequently Flooded Allowance for 2023/24.
Commenting on today’s announcement from the government Andrew Stephenson MP said “I was in Earby this week with Councillor Mike Goulthorp who talked me through the progress of the most recent flood alleviation work at New Cut. The works at New Cut, followed the £1 million Victoria Clough culvert repair project which was completed in 2019. Earby has suffered from significant flooding over recent years, most notably the Boxing Day 2015 floods. Therefore I am encouraged that the government has allocated more funding for the town.”
