Andrew Stephenson, Member of Parliament for Pendle, did attend five wreath laying ceremonies on Remembrance Day, Sunday 11th November.
He attended a 9.15am Service and Wreath laying at St. Mary’s Church in Newchurch, followed by the Colne ceremony, starting from the Colne Legion Club on Keighley Road, at 10.15am with the service at the War Memorial on Albert Road around 11am. Then he made his way to Barrowford for the wreath laying at the War Memorial in Barrowford Park around noon.
After that he laid a wreath at Nelson Cenotaph at 2pm, following a parade from the Innovation Centre in Brunswick Street starting at 1.30pm. Then he head over to a Remembrance Service at Barnoldswick Town Square at 3pm.
Andrew has been helping the Royal British Legion sell poppies. Andrew said “Every year the Remembrance Sunday events across Pendle seem to get bigger, which is really encouraging. We must never forget the debt of gratitude we owe to those who fought for the freedom we enjoy today.”
