Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson has welcomed the announcement by Lancashire County Council of an additional £4.8m investment in Secondary School places in Pendle. The investment over the next 3 years is part of an overall £47m allocation provided by the Department of Education.
The £4.8m for Pendle was agreed by the new Conservative Cabinet at County Hall on Thursday afternoon.
Commenting on the announcement Andrew Stephenson MP said, “I welcome this much needed investment, many of our secondary schools are already oversubscribed and we need to ensure we can provide the best possible facilities for future generations.”
Proposals will be brought forward in the future for County Councillors to consider, including which induvial schools will be earmarked for funding.
Commenting further, Andrew Stephenson MP said, “I will work with our County Councillors to ensure this investment makes a real difference to our schools.”
