Pendle MP Andrew Stephenson is calling on the local community to nominate businesses from the area for the annual Countryside Alliance Awards, called the ‘Rural Oscars’.
The Countryside Alliance Awards were set up to support and promote rural communities. They celebrate people who have gone the extra mile in ensuring that Britain’s food and farming industry, small businesses, traditional skills, forward thinking enterprises, and most of all, its people, can flourish. The competition is inviting nominations for Local Food & Drink; Village Shop/Post Office; Butcher; Rural Enterprise; and, Pub.
Nominations are open online at www.countryside-alliance.org until 13th November.
Andrew Stephenson MP commented: “These awards are an excellent way to promote those working hard to keep rural Britain thriving. There are numerous great businesses across Pendle, worthy of national recognition. I hope people will get involved by nominating Pendle-based businesses. Let’s bring a Rural Oscar back home to Pendle.”
